How to Write a Resolution

 

A resolution is actually a statement of facts that ends with a call for action or requests that action be taken on a particular subject. All submitted resolutions must be typed on the Resolution Form.

 

 

Completing the Resolution Form

      The Title:                                 Subject of Resolution

     1st “Whereas”                         First Statement of Fact

     2nd “Whereas”             Second Statement of Fact

     3rd “Whereas”             Third Statement of Fact

 

The 1st “NOW BE IT RESOLVED” should contain:

     • The name of the organization taking the action

     • The date of the action

     • The location of the action

     • The action to be taken

 

The 2nd “NOW BE IT RESOLVED” should contain:

     • Any further actions to be taken

     • Instructions for the distribution of the resolution

 

 

How to Submit a Resolution

 

The resolution must be typed on the official resolution form.

Note:  If possible, please also submit a copy of the resolution via email to:  info@pfsc.org 

 (This will help save time in getting them posted to the web site.)

 

• Resolutions must be signed by BOTH the Club Secretary and County Secretary

• Resolutions to be considered for the Fall Convention must reach the above address by April 20

• Resolutions to be considered by the Spring Convention must reach the above address by October 29

 

All resolutions meeting the deadline and proper format will be reviewed by the resolution committee. The PA Game Commission and/or the PA Fish and Boat Commission may also be asked to provide their comments at this time. Their input is not an attempt to influence you decision on the proposed resolution, but rather to provide you with as much additional information as possible on which to base your vote.

 

When the Resolution Committee has made their final decision, copies of the approved resolutions and any comments received from PGC or PFBC are forwarded to all club and county delegates and/or presidents. The same packet of information is also forwarded to the ON TARGET editor so that the information can be published prior to the convention at which the resolutions will be voted on. Any Club submitting a resolution that is rejected by the committee will be notified by mail.

 

Any exception to these rules, as dictated by the PFSC by is at the discretion of the Resolution Committee Chairman
